I’m not sure how DNA manipulation is advancing, but the ability to manipulate our brains into learning faster, remembering more, and performing better may be closer than you think. Check out this interesting article about using electrical impulses to “enhance” brain function:

I’m not sure how I feel about implanting a chip into my head. But I’m not gonna lie, I would love to try this spider-headset thingĀ out. Then I could impress my sister’s mother-in-law with my newly found French fluency. Just giving the brain some electric stimulation doesn’t sound nearly as creepy as some of the other advancing technologies. I still refuse to talk to my phone. I do not expect it to talk back and it definitely doesn’t have a name it responds to. What do you think? Someone convince me why there are benefits to “Siri,” or any of her cousins.
